49ers sneak into top 10 of Forbes NFL team valuations

Forbes put out a list of how much NFL teams are worth, and the 49ers dropped one spot from where they were in 2022, even though their value has gone up a lot from last year.

Their $6 billion value puts them at No. 9 in the NFL, one spot behind the just-sold Washington Commanders, who are now owned by Josh Harris.

Even though they dropped from No. 8 to No. 9, it's not because they haven't grown. Forbes says that San Francisco's value has gone up 15% since last year.

Of the top 10 teams, only the Las Vegas Raiders (up 22%) have gone up more. Las Vegas was No. 10 last year, but their value in 2022 jumped a lot, which moved them up to No. 6.

During the 2022 season, the average revenue of the league's 32 teams went up by 8%, to $581 million.

The average operating income dropped by 14%, to $126 million, because player benefits that had been put off because of the pandemic went up by a lot from the previous year.

The Rams are the No. 3 team in the NFC West. This is partly because they just won the Super Bowl, but mostly because of the brand-new SoFi Stadium. They are worth $6,900,000,000.00.

The 49ers are next, then the Seahawks at No. 14 with a value of $5 billion, and the Cardinals at the end. With a value of $3.8 billion, they are 29th in the league.
