3 cups cold milk 2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix 3 cups sliced ripe bananas (about 4 medium) 1 container (8oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed 1 package vanilla wafers (approx. 12-14 oz)
In a large bowl, beat the cold milk and pudding mixes with a whisk for 2 minutes, until thickened. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Stir in the sliced bananas gently into the pudding mixture.
In another bowl, fold the thawed whipped topping into the pudding mixture.
To assemble: Spoon a small amount of the pudding mixture into the bottom of a trifle dish or deep glass bowl. Top with a layer of vanilla wafers, then more pudding, followed by another layer of wafers.
Repeat the layering one more time, ending with the pudding mixture on top.
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving. The pudding will set more as it chills.
Garnish with a few banana slices and vanilla wafer crumbs before serving if desired.
