Fresh green beans, trimmed and cut - 1 pound Butter - 2 tablespoons Garlic, minced - 2 cloves 1 medium yellow onion, chopped Sliced mushrooms - 8 ounces All-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons Chicken or vegetable broth - 1 cup Heavy cream - 1/2 cup Dried thyme - 1/2 teaspoon French fried onions, divided - 1 cup Grated Parmesan - 1/2 cup Salt & pepper
Steam the green beans until tender-crisp.
Melt butter in a skillet. Cook garlic and onion 3 minutes.
Add mushrooms, cooking 5 more minutes.
Sprinkle in flour, cook 2 minutes stirring.
Gradually pour in broth and cream, stirring as mixture thickens.
Add thyme, green beans, half the onions, Parmesan, salt and pepper.
Transfer to baking dish, top with remaining onions.
Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees until bubbly.
Allow to sit before serving.
