Japanese Ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto Being Recruited Hard By One Team

BY Robert j. matthews

MLB teams are really interested in Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and one club is making extra efforts to attract him.

According to several reports, Steve Cohen, the owner of the New York Mets, personally visited Yamamoto in Japan.

Andy Martino from SNY said that the owner of the Mets had dinner with Yamamoto and also met the pitcher's family.

Yamamoto is the top free agent the Mets want.

The 25-year-old has done really well in his Nippon Professional Baseball career, winning 70 games and losing 29 with a 1.82 ERA.

Many people think he will get a contract worth over $200 million, maybe even $300 million.

He could be a key player for their rotation, and Cohen is making a big effort to persuade him to sign.

Many teams are interested in Yamamoto, and the Mets have strong competition.

The other New York baseball team has been planning to go after something for a year.
