Jets Place $24 Million Starter On Ir, ‘likely’ End Of His Ny Career

The New York Jets put CJ Uzomah, an experienced tight end, on injured reserve on December 6th.

So, the 30-year-old will have to sit out the next four games of the season, and there are only five games left to play.

It's probably the end of his 2023 season and maybe even his career in New York.

The Jet Press tweeted that there's a "good chance" we won't see Uzomah with the Jets anymore.

As TJP mentioned on social media, the Jets changed Uzomah's contract before the 2023 season to save money right away.

The issue with doing that is it would put money into the future that Gang Green would have to pay eventually.

If the green and white team release Uzomah this offseason, they would have to pay $5.9 million in dead cap.

The team would also have to pay a $2.7 million dead cap hit in 2025 for the void years in the contract.
